At Select Surfaces, we are fortunate to partner with some great local companies. One of those companies is The Cabinet Store based in Apple Valley, Minnesota. Today, we’re sharing what we love about partnering with The Cabinet Store as well as a peek at their work.
About The Cabinet Store
The Cabinet Store was co-founded by Scot and Luke Prettyman in 2001. Together, Scot and Luke have a combined 40 years of experience in the cabinet industry! They opened The Cabinet Store because they saw a need to fill a gap created by under experienced big box stores. With that desire driving their business, they quickly became an industry leader in the Twin Cities for kitchen and bathroom remodeling. The Cabinet Store showroom features over 40 design displays and includes high-quality products from American made and regional brands. In addition, they are a Cambria Premier Dealer.
Why The Cabinet Store Partners With Select Surfaces
The partnership between Select Surfaces and The Cabinet Store goes back 16 years! When asked about the relationship, Luke Prettyman says, “Our partnership with Select Surfaces has been instrumental in our company’s growth and success. The Cambria brand deserves the professional attention to detail and amazing support Select Surfaces delivers. It’s hard these days to find a trade partner that truly cares about your business like Jeremy Otten and the rest of the Select Surfaces team do. It’s a true partnership and we enjoy doing business with them. Besides, they are a fun bunch of really good people!”

These Lakeville, Minnesota homeowners were looking to breathe new life into their home’s kitchen. The Cabinet Store designer, Meagan Porter, worked with Joe and Mary to bring their vision to life. Here’s what she has to say about this kitchen transformation:
“I loved how the homeowners were not afraid of mixing colors, wood types, and metals. Mary is an artist and works with metal, so it was fitting that she chose a copper accent for her tile backsplash along with her custom copper and stainless steel hood. The homeowners had been collecting copper accents for years so it was fun to provide a design and new kitchen that gave all of these fun momentos a home.
Initially, they had been set to go with the Cambria design Windermere and it worked but it wasn’t that wow factor the homeowners were looking for. Right around the time of their project, Cambria came out with the Brittanica Gold. As soon as they saw it, they fell in love! It made everything for the kitchen fall into place and inspired the remainder of the project details.”
