About Kitchens of Woodbury
Kitchens of Stillwater/Woodbury specialize in helping their clients design the kitchens and bathrooms of their dreams. Having got his start in the kitchen design and remodeling industry right out of college, owner Jim Brandon opened the Kitchens of Stillwater store in 2001. The company later opened a second location in Woodbury, naming it Kitchens of Woodbury.
Select Surfaces has been working with Jim Brandon and his team for over a decade! Since day one, we’ve enjoyed their collaborative approach to business and how easy they are to partner with. From their team of designers and installers, right down to their loveable mascot, Toby, we love spending time with each and every member of the Kitchens of Stillwater/Woodbury team!
Why Kitchens of Woodbury Partners With Select Surfaces
Building strong, reliable partnerships is important to us. So, while we’re big fans of Kitchens of Woodbury, it’s nice to know the feeling is mutual! Manager/Senior Designer, Chanda Woods, shares what she loves about our team:
“Select Surfaces employees are great to work with. They are punctual for measures and installs, and the homeowners are amazed at the transformation of their kitchen!”
Designer Shannon Knutson agrees. She adds, “We love working with Select surfaces, they are so nice and always willing to help out with any questions we may have.”

Project Feature: Kitchen Refresh
Location: Woodbury, Minnesota
Designer: Shannon Knutson, Kitchens of Woodbury
Countertop: Cambria Summerhill
Cabinets: Harbor Gray (perimeter) and Espresso (island and hood)
This client was ready for a fresh kitchen update in his Woodbury home. While the homeowner was open to suggestions, when he saw a display featuring a dark espresso range hood in the Kitchens of Woodbury showroom, it was love at first sight! To add more warmth, designer Shannon Knutson proposed using cabinets in Espresso for the island as well. Then, to keep everything balanced, the perimeter cabinets are a cool-toned Harbor Gray.
The next step was picking out countertops, so the Kitchens of Woodbury team sent him to our Roseville showroom. While looking through our large Cambria slabs, the homeowner fell in love with Cambria’s Summerhill design. It was an excellent choice! Summerhill pops against the darker wood and the subtle sparkle adds a modern touch to the kitchen.
When it came to the backsplash, the homeowner was one step ahead of us. He’d already picked out the tile, opting for a chevron pattern for an accent behind the cooktop. He paired it with a classic grey/cream marble tile for the rest of the backsplash, which complements the kitchen perfectly. Topping it all off are some classic cup pulls on the drawers for a great mix of modern and traditional design. Take a peek at the stunning finished design below!
